1.How long can the kettle keep its contents warm and at what temperature?
The kettle has 5 levels of keep warm modes, namely probiotics (40°C), formula (50°C), baby rice powder (70°C), white tea (80°C) and coffee (90°C). Press the keep warm button on the kettle to switch to different levels. The default keep warm time is 12 hours, after which it will turn off automatically and enter standby mode. To set the customized keep warm temperature and duration, please use the Mi Home app and connect to the kettle via Bluetooth and configure the settings from the app.
2.Is the keep warm function power-consuming?
When keeping warm, the Mi Smart Kettle Pro heats up with low power output for short periods of time. Therefore, it only consumes a very little amount of power when the keep warm function is on. Even if the kettle is in keep warm mode for an entire day, the power consumed will be less than 0.6 kWh.
3.Will the kettle boil when the keep warm function is on?
After tapping the keep warm button, the kettle will directly heat the water to the set temperature and enter keep warm mode, but it will not boil the water. Users can also open the app, enable "automatically keep warm after boiling" and tap the "boil" button. The kettle will boil the water and keep it warm once the temperature has dropped to the keep warm temperature.
4.Will the kettle re-boil when the keep warm function is on?
The kettle will not re-boil whether the "keep warm after boiling" or the "heat to keep warm temperature" option is chosen. Users can change the settings in the app according to their needs.
5.Why is the displayed temperature higher than the set one?
There is certain deviation between the actual temperature and the set one due to fluctuations in temperatures caused by residual heat from the heating plate.
6.Does the kettle need to be plugged in when using the keep warm function?
The Mi Smart Kettle Pro has a double-layer structure and can provide physical heat insulation for short periods of time. You should connect the kettle to a power outlet if you need to keep the contents warm for longer periods of time.
7.What is "Remember keep warm temperature after lifting kettle"?
When this feature is enabled in the app, the ambient temperature is in the range of 4–35°C, the water level is above the minimum line, and the difference between the actual water temperature and the keep warm temperature is 10°C or less, then the conditions for keeping warm are met when the kettle is removed from and returned onto the base. For example: if the keep warm temperature is set to 70°C and the actual water temperature is 60°C, then the kettle will continue to keep the water warm. This function is disabled by default. Users can change the settings in the app according to their needs.
8.Why does the display turn off after a certain amount of time?
The display will turn off automatically if there are water temperature less than 45 ° C and no user operations for 120 seconds after the kettle has been placed back on the base while powered on. Press the boil or keep warm button to turn the display back on. After the display turns back on, other operations may be used.
9.How do I set customized keep warm level and duration in the Mi Home app?
1) After connecting successfully to the Mi Home app, the page will display the current status (heating, keeping warm, boiling, etc.) 2) Users can switch between the 5 levels in the Mi Home app. The 5 levels are level 1 (40°C), level 2 (50°C), level 3 (70°C), level 4 (80°C) and level 5 (90°C). 3) Users can use the Mi Home app and slide to select their desired keep warm temperature and duration. Keep warm temperature adjustment range: 40°C to 90°C, each adjustment step is 5°C; Manual adjustment range for keep warm duration: 1–12 hours, each adjustment step is 0.5 hour. 4) While the kettle is heating up or keeping warm, adjustments to the levels or level temperatures will be effective immediately.
10.Why is the content in the Mi Home app sometimes dimmed and can't be operated?
When there is a device error, the display will be dimmed and will notify of error. Please disconnect and restart the device, and then reconnect with the app.
11.Can I use the Mi Home app directly to boil water?
Due to safety considerations, direct control of the kettle with app is not supported.
12.Does the kettle have pre-set heating and keep warm functions?
Due to usage safety considerations, pre-set heating and keep warm functions are not supported. You can use your Mi Home app to set the keep warm duration to keep the contents warm for a long period of time.
13.Why is there water scale (white spots) on the kettle bottom after only a few times of use?
The formation of scale in the kettle and bubbly water after boiling may be due to the hardness of water and is caused by calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate in the water. We recommend using purified water or a Mi Water Purifier to effectively reduce the formation of water scale.
14.How do I clean off water scale in the kettle?
If water scale builds up inside the kettle, please use scale cleaners (available at supermarkets) or add a bit of citric acid into the water and boil it once.
15.Why are there rusty spots on the bottom of my kettle? Is it rusting?
The body of the Mi Smart Kettle Pro is made of national standard 06Cr19Ni10(SUS304) materials with excellent anti-rust properties and is completely suitable for regular kettle use. The formation of rust may be due to reactions between other components in the water and the stainless steel. You can try citric acid or vinegar to clean it.
16.Why didn't it heat up?It has burning smell?Why didn't it work after placing it back on the base?
"Dry burning protection" is activated on the kettle. If there is no water inside the kettle or the amount of water is lower than the minimum level, the kettle's "Dry burning protection" mechanism will be activated and cut off the power supply. Please wait until the water cools down before adding more water and trying again.
17.Will I get electric shocked if I touch the copper plate on the kettle base?
The exposed copper plate is used for grounding and does not carry charge. However, the hidden copper plate inside the grooves cannot be touched directly or come in contact with metallic or other conductive materials.
18.What should I do if the kettle base gets wet or if I accidentally drop it in water?
Please wipe off the moisture immediately, place the base in a well-ventilated area and wait until the various electronic components and conductive materials in the base are completely dry before using again. Do not use the kettle after the base is wet or soaked with water to prevent electric shock and other accidents.
19.Can I use the kettle in plateau (high altitude) regions?
The higher the altitude in the region, the lower the boiling point of water. Using the kettle at high altitudes may make it difficult to boil water. Do not use the kettle at altitudes of over 1000 m.
